NAIFA-Rochester was one of the first NYS locals to bring back its legislative breakfast program, and on January 26, the association held its 2018 legislative event at the Monroe Country Club in Pittsford.  The NAIFA-NYS government relations team briefed attendees on the most critical issues facing life insurance agents and advisors in New York:  the Governor’s plan to create a state-run retirement program for the private sector, the DFS effort to establish a “best interest” standard for life insurance as well as annuities and–who can forget–the DFS cyber-security regulation.  On the legislative front, there was good news about the progress of a NAIFA-NYS bill granting six (6) CE credits for active members of the association.  Plus, local legislators were on hand to share their thoughts about the issues and the industry.  Great job, Rochester.
