Syracuse’s support for the concept of legislative breakfasts has never waned and, on March 3, association members welcomed their local legislators for an enthusiastic give-and-take regarding the NAIFA-NYS legislative and regulatory agenda. Senate Deputy Majority Leader John A. DeFrancisco (R-I-C, SD 50) spoke at length about the NYS budget negotiations and his opposition to the Governor’s Article 7 budget bill, and supported the NAIFA-NYS bill granting 6 CE credits to active association members.
Joining Senator DeFrancisco were Scott Butler, Director of Operations for Senator David Valesky (D-I, SD 53), Deputy Independent Democratic Conference Leader; Assem. Albert Stirpe (D, AD 127) and his Legislative Director Drew Davis; Assem. Pamela Hunter (D-WFP-I, AD 128) and her District Director Lisa Sacco; Terry Wilbur, Constituent Liaison for Assem. William A. Barclay (R, AD 120), Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Insurance Committee; and Craig Swiecki, Legislative Director for Assem. William Magnarelli (D, AD 129).
