In a legislative breakfast featuring Assembly Insurance Committee Chair Kevin Cahill (D, AD 103)—who explained the NAIFA-NYS legislative and regulatory agenda about as well as NAIFA-NYS government relations staff could—and Committee Member James Skoufis (D, AD 99), the Orange-Sullivan association made its first showing as a new, expanded Hudson Valley association on April 28.

Ulster County association leadership was on hand, in support of the not-quite-finalized expanded local territory, which would cover well-recognized Hudson Valley counties on both sides of the Hudson River.

Highlights of the legislative breakfast discussion:  CE credits for NAIFA-NYS membership, impacts of the confusing DFS cyber-security reg, a NAIFA-NYS bill to take a step back from New York consideration of a government-run retirement plan, rebating reform, Reg 74 illustration requirements, a cost-of-insurance regulation, and the governor’s wide-ranging budget proposal.
